Grounded (S3E2) Analysis
Okay so I’ve rewatched Moral Orel nearly 3 times through and Grounded even more so I couldn’t help but take note of some things that I found. Initially, I didn’t know the meaning behind the whole episode, but my brother showed it to his friend who provided a great explanation. Basically, through his hallucinations, Orel discovers that he doesn’t exactly need to go to church in order to believe in God the right way, since his body is a temple (hence him stating, “I’m a church!”).

This might be a stretch but in this scene, Orel treats his body like a temple, cradling and comforting a little version of his own form.
However, Clay grinds the opposite idea into Orel’s head, each spank reinforcing that church is the only rightful place to worship.

So, in regards to this theme, I wanted to point out where it’s directly alluded to in the episode: Orel’s backwards talking in his hallucination.
I reversed the part so you can hear what he says.
One last thing I want to mention is this significant (and adorable) screencap that I haven’t seen anyone post about:

It’s extremely easy to miss because it’s literally gone in a flash, but I feel like it represents the harmony that Orel realized exists between his homemade church (his own temple) and the actual church.
